  1. There are many people who can smoke an occasional joint as many others have an occasional drink. However, there is a small group of people whom inflict a lot of damage to their lives with soft drugs being a gateway to hard drugs. It is a very difficult question whether the pleasure of a many outweighs the misfortune of a few. Its good that they are legalizing marijuana dispensaries now.

  2. I am a rare breed. I started smoking weed when I was about 19 and I won't lie I then tried one other drug which was crystal meth. I did that for a couple of years off and on and then quit cold turkey. In my case it was all a state of mind. I just got tired of being up all the time and found that I would rather smoke weed, relax, sleep, get the munchies and still have a normal functioning life. I have drove high, worked high, cleaned my house high and have yet to run into a problem. I have also found that my anxiety that I have is easier to control when I am high. I hate the prescription drugs they tried to give me over the years , there were so many uncomfortable side effects from all the meds I tried and the only thing that didn't give me the nasty side effects was marijuana. I didn't use drugs to run from any problems I used them for pure fun and maybe that is why I was able to walk away from crystal meth cold turkey and I am happy I did and never looked back, as it also made my anxiety worse rather than better. I am also not a drinker as I have seen so many bad things happen from drinking and it is just not my forte. I had a family member who went to prison because of the effects of alcohol and I will never ever put my self in that position. I would rather be high on marijuana than drunk on alcohol or twacked out on some other drug.
